NEW DATES for Coolamon Classes

Travel & Create!

Design & Pattern Making Workshops are now grouped together to give you the chance to travel and create.

Intro Fashion Training
This coming school holiday break I have four fabulous one-day (10-16.00hrs) workshops on offer.  I've scheduled these workshops together so you can get better value out of your travel expenses.  Coolamon is a fabulous destination if you fancy including some R&R with your professional development.  You'll find more detail about the subjects and the workshops on my website:  Teacher Training

The workshops in brief:
Fashion Design Portfolio (SAT 23 SEPT) - The Fashion Design Portfolio workshop is cross-disciplined and focuses on the process involved in the forecasting trends, development of design ideas, technical detail and ultimately, fashion product.  By the end of the day all students will have produced two (portfolio ready) Trend Boards incorporating trend forecast and their own design work.  Plus a Design Development sheet full of new and exciting fashion ideas.

Fashion Illustration (SUN 24 SEPT) - The idea behind the Fashion Illustration incursion is to build the tools and skills required to produce industry quality fashion illustrations.  There are demonstrations and practice sessions in the use of different colour and media to create depth, movement and print effects in the illustration.

Corset Patterns (MON 25 SEPT) - During this one-day workshop you will use the Corset Block to produce a Corset patterns with design features that may include tucks, fullness and interesting seam detail.  You will take home a completed Corset Pattern, pattern making instructions for future projects, an understanding of fashion corset construction and a list of suppliers for corset materials and trims.

Fitting Commercial Patterns (TUES 27 SEPT) - This workshop will focus on an understanding of the body and the best location for pattern alterations between sizes and for personal fit issues.  There will be demonstrations of the initial changes that can be made to commercial patterns prior to making the first sample.

With my recent relocation I'm now teaching during the year in four different cities - Coolamon, Sydney, Melbourne and Newcastle.  If you'd like to keep up-to-date with the workshops offered at Studio Faro you can subscribe to my newsletter here:  Contact  And you catch up on the most recent news here:  News
