Studio Faro was created when I returned from living overseas in 2000, and decided that I had a opportunity to share all the wonderful things I had seen and learnt in my 15 years away. The most important part of that experience was the diverse and interesting nature of my work.
I worked as a freelance designer in London, a senior lecturer in Manchester and stretched my skills across trend forecast, design development, pattern making, garment construction and tertiary education.
Returning to Sydney I was able to continue in that vein, offering freelance design and pattern making services, and teaching in many of the local fashion institutions. A recent move to the country has changed the emphasis of my work. Much of the focus is on building the content on my website and running fashion-based classes in the local area.
From a young age I’ve enjoyed making clothes and this creativity has given me a lifetime of work and joy. Through face-to-face and digital opportunities I will always enjoy sharing my knowledge and skills.
