*For the moment my sewing classes are on hold.  I hope to start them up toward the end of the year.  If you subscribe to my newsletter on the website you’ll be the first to hear when they are scheduled.

On the second Sunday in the month, I run dressmaking classes in the CWA Rooms, in Coolamon.  It’s a four-hour session, starting at 10.00am and finishing by 2.00pm.  Students are welcome to work on their own personal projects, under my expert guidance.  Absolute beginners are also welcome to begin their sewing journey in this creative, friendly group.

During each session, I will demonstrate dressmaking techniques and pattern alterations to help you perfect your garments.  These techniques will include inserting zips, a variety of hemming techniques, all seam types and their specific uses, sleeve insertion, sewing collars, attaching waistbands and so many more.

Bring your sewing machine and all your sewing equipment, patterns, fabric, sewn samples, and creative ideas. These groups will be kept small (6) to make sure everyone gets specialist the attention they desire.

You will learn:

• How to read sewing patterns and choose the right size for making.
• How to make the alterations required to fit your sewing patterns.
• Sewing techniques for making the best quality clothing.

Students will need to bring:

• Everyone needs to bring their own sewing machine, sewing kit and thread (see the download attached to your order).
• Your latest sewing project.
• Any related trimmings.

Dress Code:  Casual and comfortable with closed in toe shoes because we are keen to keep your toes safe.  This is an introductory class that is suitable for students of all skill levels.
