A Vintage Gem PDF Sewing Pattern

A Vintage Gem PDF Sewing Pattern

It all started with this image I found on the interweb many years ago and resulted in a #PatternPuzzle post to unpack this fascinating idea.  And finally it’s a digital sewing pattern for everyone to download.  Like many vintage sewing patterns they use fashion illustrations rather than photographs to promote the pattern.  And the cover suggests you can wear this wrap top wrapped to the front and to the back.  In my experience it didn’t work out that way and worn with the wrap at the back it was far too tight across the throat to be comfortable.

The main attraction of this sewing pattern is the fact that there are only two pattern pieces to complete the top and although the pattern shape is very unusual the actual sewing is quick and simple.  When you purchase this sewing pattern you’ll also receive a detailed photo tutorial of sewing instructions and a separate PDF for lay-plans, cutting and fabric suggestions.

The sewing pattern is available in 7 sizes and three different print formats (A0, 36″ Plotter and A4/letter).  When you purchase this sewing pattern you’ll also receive a detailed photo tutorial of sewing instructions and a separate PDF for lay-plans cutting and fabric suggestions.

A few things I’ve learnt along the way:

  • You can never trust the accuracy of the fabulous vintage illustrations they use on old sewing patterns.
  • Every vintage idea does not translate automatically to a garment we’d wear in the here and now.
  • Be very clear/careful about the best fabric to use for a successful outcome with weird or complex sewing patterns.

I’m hoping you all enjoy this new Pattern Puzzle sewing pattern and feel free to comment below with any questions you may have.
