Boat Neck Tee Pattern

This pattern is one of my ‘Off-the-Rails’ sewing patterns that I’ve worked with for many years.  The Boat Neck Tee is a wardrobe classic when cut in a plain cloth and seriously quirky when you mix your print and plain knit fabrics. Although the image below is of a half sleeve tee-shirt, the pattern comes with a three-quarter sleeve.  I’ll be adding a post to the blog very soon showing the sleeve pattern alterations for short and long sleeves.

The pattern is available in Sizes 6-22 and has four pattern pieces in total, including the front and back body, three-quarter sleeve and neck bind.  I’ve also included charts with pattern measurements, yardage required to cut this pattern and some basic sewing instructions.  You can use my Size Chart to work out which size would suit your fit.

One of my favourite things is to mix and match my knit fabrics for a more quirky effect in my tee-shirts.  Both the necklines on the tee-shirts below have an inside bind as a finish.

And the tee-shirt I’m wearing below has an outside bind finish on the neckline.  And I’m wearing it with one of my favourite Drape Tube Skirts in warm orange.

And with this final sample (below) I’ve reversed the use of print fabric to the back of the garment because it’s a semi-transparent net fabric.
